Went down to Cape Town last month to attend a very close friend's 70th birthday celebrations. While there, I made a point of going to Saunders Rocks at the end of Sea Point as it's a great spot to shoot seascapes. The weather god's were definitely friendly towards me, responding with a truly spectacular sunset. Hope you enjoy the pics.

HAVING FUN WITH FLOWERS
Creating seascape images is so much dependent on the weather and the light, that sometimes days or weeks go by without there being an opportunity to try to create something fresh. Faced with "perfect" weather - sunny and bright a few weeks ago, I decided to try some close-up flower photography. The images below were all shot at Pine Lake Marina on Swartvlei. Hope you enjoy....

FOAM AND ROCKS ON GOUKAMMA BEACH
Last Saturday evening, we went down to Goukamma Beach - the one behind the Lake Pleasant Hotel just outside Sedgefield - and were confronted with this huge amount of foam on the beach. This sometimes occurs after big storms, but during the past week the weather was mild, so no idea what the cause of this is. Two days later, it was still there.
SUNSET AT BRENTON-ON-SEA

WAY OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE....
A friend of mine who is a motoring journalist and writes for a local paper as well as a few national ones, asked me if I'd like to help him my shooting a Peugeot RCZ he had on test. He's a great "scribe", but not the most knowledgeable photographer.
Having said that, this is new ground for me as well. I've shot a few stills of cars before, but this time he wanted to shoot the car being driven, which requires totally different camera setting and skills compared with landscapes. We found a location that offered some possibilities and I gave it my best shot - excuse the pun - and produced some images that he was really happy with....

SOMETHING DIFFERENT.....
The weather has been totally overcast and rainy for the past few days and the sea has been grey and dull.
I've never shot "macro" before, so this afternoon after the sky lightened and was like a huge softbox, I decided to try it out. The wind was blowing a bit, so some of the images are not pin sharp.
